A CDL Class A Vehicle is one that weighs more than 26.000 lbs. and has a trailer that weighs more than 10.000 lbs. For example, a Tractor Trailer. Once someone has a CDL Class A license, they can also drive any Class B Vehicle.
CDL Class B vehicles are defined as any vehicle that weighs more than 26.000 lbs. and has no trailer, or if there is a trailer it must weigh less than 10.000 Ibs. Some examples are a box truck, dump truck, garbage truck, and cement truck, just to name a few.
A CDL Class B+ P Vehicle is one that weighs more than 26.000 lbs. and has a carrier with 16 or more passengers. For example, a Passenger Bus. Once someone has a CDL Class B + P license they can also drive any Class B Vehicle.
